In the case of ship loading, the operation needs to be done as fast as possible due to the costs related to docking. The speed required generates more dust, and thus a higher filtration capacity is needed to keep environmental emissions controlled. Additionally, for the eco-hoppers, the proximity to the sea will determine if the use of anti-corrosion paint on the dust collectors is necessary.
Directly integrated dust collectors are highly recommended to ensure no environmental contamination is produced while unloading dry bulk from ships, trucks, or trains.
